Resources for Students
Join our growing community in Reykjavik and learn the art of Brazilian Zouk and Lambada! Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced dancer, our weekly classes provide a supportive, fun, and engaging environment to build your skills, connect with others, and enjoy the magic of partner dancing. Below, you’ll find answers to common questions and important guidelines to ensure a great experience for everyone.
-
Can I try a class before registering?Absolutely! Your first Brazilian Zouk or Lambada dance class in Reykjavik is always free. This is the perfect opportunity to see if our classes are right for you before making a commitment.
-
What should I wear?Wear comfortable clothing that’s suitable for movement—a mix of sportswear and casual attire works best. Make sure you feel relaxed and free to move easily during the class.
-
What shoes should I wear?We recommend wearing dance shoes, such as Fuegos dance sneakers, which can be shipped to Iceland. If you’re just starting, shoes with a slippery sole will work well. For followers, having shoes that allow for spinning is especially important, while leaders can wear most comfortable, non-grippy shoes that support easy movement.
-
Is it difficult to start with dance classes as an adult? Not at all! Our classes are designed specifically for beginners, and we have extensive experience teaching adults with zero dance experience. Our supportive and welcoming environment ensures you’ll feel comfortable and confident as you learn at your own pace. No matter your age or skill level, dancing is for everyone!
-
Do I need a partner to join? No, you don’t need a partner to join our classes! Whether you come alone or with friends, you’re welcome here. We rotate partners during class, so you’ll have the opportunity to dance and connect with everyone. Of course, if you have a partner, they’re more than welcome to join as well.
-
Do I have to rotate, or can I stay with my partner? It’s entirely up to you! In our classes, we encourage rotating partners as it’s a great way to improve your skills, adapt to different styles, and meet other students. However, if you’re more comfortable staying with your partner, that’s perfectly fine too. We want everyone to feel at ease and enjoy their learning experience. Just let us know your preference, and we’ll make it work for you!
